Christmas Charities Year Round Service Inc

Christmas Charities Year Round (CCYR) is a non-profit charitable organization serving Madison County, Alabama, that provides basic necessities year round, plus toys and food during the Christmas season at no cost to its clients. CCYR is not just about Christmas, but rather taking care of the residents of Madison County all year long.  Just as we say “365 days of giving.” 

Our clothing program provides both adults and children with clothes, coats and shoes.  This service is available for children throughout the year as their sizes changes as well as the seasons. We also provide one new complete outfit to start school in addition to two weeks of gently used items from our clothing closets. We also try to provide children with a book bag and school supplies at the beginning of the school year.

For families in need of items for the home, Christmas Charities has the largest furniture bank in the county.  We assist with basic household items; things like furniture, large and small appliances, house wares, and linens. 

And you can't have Christmas in your name and not be one of Santa's helpers. During the holidays, we provide both children and senior citizens with gifts for Christmas and a holiday food box. In 2011, Christmas Charities assisted 1099 families.

Due to the economy, company closings and employee layoffs designations from the United Way, Combined Federal Campaign, and the Alabama State Campaign are not what they have been in the past.  However, the number of our neighbors needing assistance continues to rise and this is why your financial support is so important to us.
