Our mission is to protect wildlife and wildlife habitat in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas by rehabilitating injured wildlife and raising awareness about the threats they face and the important role they play in the environment and in our lives.

Prior to our opening in 2013, there was no wildlife rehabilitation center in Washington, DC. The nearest wildlife rehabilitation center was an hour away and many of the animals that were injured in the District were not able to make the journey.
