Who we are: We are the City Club of Boise, a 501c3 organization founded in 1995 by Boise individuals.  At City Club, our mission is to bring people together to explore diverse issues and hear varied viewpoints.  We provide anyone and everyone direct access to informed and engaging speakers, experts and community leaders.

In Idaho, we are the oldest and most established City Club. We believe that the need for City Club, an organization that can be accessed regardless of where you live in Idaho or what your position or income might be, is greater than ever, as partisanship prevails and open-minded, nonpartisan information about important issues becomes more and more difficult to find.

How we do it:

  • We offer monthly lunch forums featuring subject matter and policy experts who address issues facing the community and the region.
  • We are non-partisan, including speakers that address issues without regard to party.
  • Forum attendees submit questions to speakers through a moderator, questions that often deepen both the audience and the speakers understanding of complex issues.
  • Forums are re-broadcast on 91.5 FM, Boise State Public Radio, and posted on our website, making the conversations available to anyone with a radio or a computer.

What we hope will happen: Our forums are regularly attended by business leaders, legislators and other elected officials as well as the general public. We hope that, through these open dialogues, and with well-informed members, we can begin to find reasonable solutions to these complex issues facing our community.

Why we need you: City Club is funded by members and sponsors. People join City Club because they want to personally support an informed, healthy, diverse and dynamic community. Many people wish to step up and do even more than just ensure the lunch forum program continues. These individuals join the Landmark Club, a giving society, which supports City Club’s special projects.

What you can do right now:  Make a gift today to join the Landmark Club, and help us reach our goal of $5,000 needed for several Civility Project initiatives.

City Club Civility Project: After a successful celebratory kick-off event last fall fall, City Club needs support as to continue and build on our year-long series of events exploring civility and civil discourse principles and how they are applied, (along with what happens when they are not applied), in core areas of our society: our courts, our faiths, our government, our media, and our schools.
