CivicStory

CivicStory was founded in 2009 to address gaps in daily news through high-quality short videos and public forums. The organization explores the civic role and purpose of news and the impact of news media on democracy and our environment.

CivicStory's inventory of 80 videos encompasses subjects such as environmental stewardship, engaged citizenship, innovation, and public humanities. In 2016, CivicStory received the Broader Vision Award from the Garden State Film Festival for filmmaking dedicated to the greater good. 

CivicStory is based in Summit, NJ, and has a board of eight and a part-time creative team of four. 

'Heart of the City' is a video series highlighting creative change and noteworthy sustainability initiatives in 6 New Jersey cities:

• Newark
• Trenton
• Camden
• Jersey City
• Atlantic City
• Paterson

CivicStory needs to increase its capacity through communications, marketing, and administrative support.
