Clarendon Foundation

Since 1990, Clarendon Foundation, also known as FRIENDS (Fund Raising Involvement and Efforts for the needs of the Disadvantaged in Sri Lanka) has raised and spent over One Millions Dollars on providing assistance to the poor and destitute in Sri Lanka, primarily kids. 

Projects funded by Clarendon benefit kids across Sri Lanka, irrespective of race, religion and all other differences.  All donations received are carefully accounted for and never disbursed without explicit, verified needs.  Additionally, they are not subject to ANY administrative expenses here in the US - 100% is channeled to the projects we sponsor.

Projects:

• Complete support for a Home in Mount Lavinia for underpriviledged kids, caring for up to 75 kids at a time, over the past 22 years
• Ongoing support for two children's Homes in Moratuwa
• Complete support for a Home in Pesalai in the Mannar district for children from the nothern refugee camps
• Support for a Home for 25 kids in Poovarasankulam in the Vavuniya area for children whose fathers were killed in the war
• Supports a food program that provides meals to over 600 children a day from the slums of Colombo
• Ongoing nutrition for 70 cancer patients of which 65 are children

 

We raise funds primarily through regular monthly/annual contributions from members of the community in addition to fundraisers held throughout the year.  A contribution of any amount goes a long way in Sri Lanka and we hope that you will assist us in any way you can.
