Clean Water for Haiti

Clean Water for Haiti (CWH) is a volunteer run, faith based missions and humanitarian aid organziations.  As a registered non-profit organization in Canada and the US, CWH works to provide sustainable solutions to the water crisis in Haiti through the use of Biosand water filters.    Through our subsidized Biosand Water filter project we provide a simple, effective and affordable solution to the lack of clean water sources for Haitian families.  The household Biosand filter is a simple design that uses readily available materials, allows for easy production and is easy to transport.  There are no moving parts, do not require electricity and can be used by even the youngest members of the family.  With minimal maintenance a Biosand filter can work effectively for over 20 years.  We can produce, deliver and install a filter for about $50 US.   

What We Do:

• Promote, build and install Biosand Water Filters in communities throughout Haiti.
• Teach much needed sanitation and hygience education.
• Create employment opportunities for Haitian men and women.
• Support the Haitian economy by purchasing local materials.
• Train, resource and support other organizations interested in   starting water filter projects.
• Establish new production sites to reach other regions in Haiti.
