Clothing Our Kids

Clothing Our Kids was organized in January 2012 exclusively for charitable purposes. The program started because of a need to clothe less fortunate children whose families do not have the means to supply clothing for their children to wear to school. My husband and co-founder, John, has been a school administrator for 40 years.  He is an Assistant Principal of an Elementary School. It was brought to his attention that some students in his school did not have the proper clothing to wear to school because of family displacement or other unfortunate problems.  My husband asked me if I could find clothing for one of these students.  I decided to start up a simple program to bring in donated Pre-school and Elementary School Children's clothing from the general public and distribute the clothing through the Local Elementary Schools. I contacted the Elementary Schools in my local area and met with Elementary Family Crisis Counselors, Nurses and Guidance Counselors to discuss the need of my Charity in their schools. I started receiving donations from the public and clothing requests from the schools for their Elementary Students in need, as well as requests for younger siblings in the household.
