Club Esteem believes every child deserves the opportunity to dream of and create a life beyond their current circumstances. We are an afterschool program inspiring 1st-12th grade boys and girls from under-resourced communities to embrace academic and personal excellence. Through a combination of individualized tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs Club Esteem students grow into determined, compassionate, workforce-ready, and college-bound young people destined for success.

OUR BELIEFS

  1. Boys and girls blossom when they have structured, supervised activities.
  2. All children and youth deserve access to tutoring, college prep, and mentorship.
  3. Successful students make successful mentors. We are proud of and committed to growing our Teens as Tutors program.
  4. When we invest in our children they will invest in us. Students in community-based programming are likely to become compassionate adults who find their own ways to serve their community.
  5. One’s zip code during childhood should not determine any person’s future income, the opportunity for success, and access to support.
  6. It’s a community’s responsibility to nurture its children. We truly believe it takes a village to raise a child.
  7. Part of closing the equity gap in education is access to peers, teachers, and mentors who share students’ cultural experiences and backgrounds.
  8. By cultivating a desire and expectation for excellence in our children, we are directly inspiring higher standards for their parents, siblings, and extended families.
