Mission

The mission of the Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence is to work to end gender-based violence and promote equitable relationships through collective action for social change.

Description

We work for gender equity and social justice in King County. We are a member-based organization representing 30+ diverse agencies. We're here to support our members' efforts so that they have tools and resources to better serve survivors of gender-based violence.

We fight for protective legislation, policies and funding at the state and local levels to improve how our communities handle domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking. We connect professionals across disciplines to share ideas, and we offer training on current challenges and best practices. We lead special projects that tap into the collective power of Coalition members and ensure access to high-quality services for all survivors. Our current emphasis is on survivors who struggle with issues around mental health, chemical dependency, housing, family law, and violence prevention. Past projects have centered increasing access to services for LGBTQ survivors of violence and on survivors of abuse who have been arrested.
