Opened March 2013, the Coastal Wildlife Rescue and Research Center is the first and only in Baldwin County, Alabama. Constructed from donated time and materials on borrowed land, they have been functionally totally off volunteer labor and communitiy donations.

CWRRC does not recieve any state or federal funding, nor does any of the staff get a paycheck. This is a true grass roots labor of love.

CWRRC takes in all federally protected migratory bird species from Baldwin county and the surrounding counties.

CWRRC goal is to rehabilitate and release the birds back into their habitats. Being located in the heart of the major U.S. migratory path, CWRRC can collect data on all different kinds of migratory species, and provide that data to the federal goverment for use in conservation and restoration of habitat, or use in diesease control.

Our facility is in need of a waterfowl enclosure, a large raptor flight enclosure, smaller enclosures to house educational species, and another songbird pre release enclosure.

We are a growing organiztion that has great potential, we just need the funding to complete our facility and get all the proper housing for the different types of birds we rehabilitate. Working with just a 2 room mobile building, one songbird aviary, and one small enclosure for the larger species, we need to build bigger and better enclosures for these birds. To build these enclosures, we need the funding. The small donations from the community keeps us in operation, but that's about it. We need to EXPAND, we are up on intakes by 150% from last year.
