CoastPride

What we are

CoastPride is a nonprofit committed to creating a coastside that supports and celebrates people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Because we are stronger together, all of our programs are designed to increase visibility and create a greater sense of belonging to both the LGBTQ+ and greater communities. 

Who we serve

San Mateo County Coastside from Pacifica to Pescadero, with a current reach of about 800 LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, serving all ages—teens to seniors—and their families and caregivers.

What we face

Public perception is that the Bay Area is an accepting haven for LGBTQ+ individuals. The truth is, we face discrimination and isolation at every level, and, in today’s political climate, real danger.

What we offer

CoastPride Center—a place for LGBTQ+ and allies to come together. It provides a crucial space for hosting our support groups and social activities, and increases our visibility in the community.

Health and Wellness programs— increase opportunities for connection, offers counseling and support groups and social events.

Education and Visibility programs— educate the public about LGBTQ+ issues and bridges divides.

Social Justice programs— partnering with schools, faith organizations, governmental, and safety-net services, we focus on equity in public spaces, workplaces, educational and denominational settings.

Expand the number of youth, family, and older adult support groups and locations, and specifically for trans and non-binary individuals

Offer gender affirming mental health services

Increase outreach to our LatinX community through bilingual programs

Expand our youth scholarships and leadership

Offer training on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression

Increase our Pride Center hours for social and educational events
