Over the past 38 years, we have awarded scholarships to promising Half Moon Bay High School Seniors. Over the past ten years, we have awarded approximately $200,000 to 82 well-deserving graduates. More than half of these students were the first in their families to attend college. Scholastically, they were successful. Many served in leadership roles at the school and the community, and a significant number held part-time jobs to supplement the family income. Financial need is a critical consideration when we decide on our scholarship recipients.

Our goal is to increase the number of students we serve as the needs of our local students continue to grow and as the cost of secondary education rises. In 2021, we awarded six $3,000 scholarships. In 2022 we increased the award amount to $6,000 and have since awarded 13 scholarships. Half Moon Bay High School has a senior class of 256 this school year. Forty-five percent of those students face financial difficulties.

With your help, we can have a greater impact and award more scholarships. We believe that all seniors, regardless of family income, should have an opportunity to further their education. Our goal this year is to award ten scholarships to deserving graduates planning to attend a two-year community program, a four-year college or university, or a vocational program. We ask you to help us achieve that goal by contributing today.
