Color-Country Animal Welfare serves rural Wayne County, Utah. We are the only non-profit or public organization providing animal related services in the area. Our nearest small animal vet is over 60 miles away. Annually we assist residents with 100 - 200 spays and neuters for cats and dogs. Our motto is For Every Animal a Forever Home. Our Foster Program last year helped rescue 90 cats and dogs by finding their owners or helping find them a new permanent home. We are a 100% volunteer organization and 95% of our operational funds go to our programs. The other 5% goes primarily to insurance. We are proud to announce that in January 2017 we paid off our new land and can now focus on our our goal of bringing a shelter, veterinary services and boarding kennel to the area, to serve both the residents and the visitors to the Capitol Reef National Park area. CCAW was founded by Dottie Weaver whose lifelong love of animals drove her to help the community in this remote area. Dottie passed away in February 2015.
