CLB is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the Greater Washington Region for over 100 years. Here are some of the life-changing programs and services that we provide to enable people who are visually impaired or blind, to remain independent. Children’s Programs: Camp Lighthouse, Parent Workshops, Teen Support Groups Low Vision Care Services: Two Low Vision Clinics within the community, Future Mobile Unit Senior and Adult Services Program: Independent Living Skills Training and Travel Training, Case Management, Support Groups Careers: Job Training, Skills Building, Job Coaching & Placement Assistive Technology: AT Devices, Computer Training, Technology Assessment, Worksite Evaluations Bridge to Work for Veterans: Skills Training on Digital Data Scan and Job Placement There is a growing number of people, approximately 80,000, including veterans experiencing vision loss in the Greater Washington, DC Region. According to Prevent Blindness statistics, every 7 minutes someone in America will become blind or visually impaired.
