Columbia Parks and Recreation Foundation

The Columbia Parks and Recreation Foundation provides time, treasure, and talents for the improvement of our Capital City’s parks and recreation facilities and programs.

Residents in diverse neighborhoods throughout our City enjoy spending time in our beautiful public spaces for entertainment, recreation, and wellness. Excellent amenities like these are important for our strong quality of life and our economic development.

As a private 501 (c) 3 non profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, we work in partnership with the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department. To accomplish the following purposes:

• to promote programs for the City’s Parks & Recreation Department related to enhancing and expanding the scope of the educational and human development qualities;

 

• to encourage, recruit, receive, and administer gifts and donations for the advancement of the City’s parks and recreation programs and facilities;

• to make gifts and grants to and coordinate with the City’s Parks & Recreation Department that support the long range goals of the Department as approved by City Council;

• to act as fiscal sponsor for donors who wish to sponsor programs and projects of the City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Department.

The Columbia Parks and Recreation Foundation enlists the help of individuals, corporate donors, and other charitable organizations in carrying out its role in our community.
