Youth Action Hudson believes that the youth in our community are one of the most valuable assets we have. We provide support for youth in the community to create positive programs and service projects that make a difference in our community.
Service: As of 2018, Youth Action Hudson engaged in more than 25 service learning programs throughout the year. Youth Action Hudson is one of the few organizations that is certified through the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). Since 2012, 118 Youth Action Hudson youth have received the PVSA for providing more than 100 hours of service to the community in a one year time frame.
Leadership: Our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) guides all activities/ programs of Youth Action Hudson. Currently, the YAB is comprised of approximately 30+ actively involved Hudson High School students. YAB has provided students with the opportunity to develop and facilitate new programs while improving established programs. Youth Action Hudson has turned over 7 programs; Do Good Work, Youth 5K, Yoga in the Park, Community Wide Book Drive, All Dressed Up, Period Project, and the Rummage Sale to our youth volunteers, which are now designated as Youth Leadership Programs. These programs include 2 co-chairman and 2 sub-chairman allowing our youth more leadership opportunities and greater responsibilities.
Education: Programs are designed to develop youth leaders to have a positive influence on their community. Peer to Peer was established for students to develop and facilitate educational presentations for all 5-8th grade students throughout the Hudson School District on various topics including conflict resolution, self-esteem, stress management, and health & wellness.
