Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska

We are a private, non-profit organization serving 27 counties in south central Nebraska and two counties in Kansas.

Our agency strives to provide the programs and needed resources to alleviate poverty conditions and enhance economic, education, health, housing, and nutrition security for individuals, families, and communities. Program services for the Kearney area includes:

• Child Abuse Resource and Education (CARE)
• Commodity Supplemental Food Program
• Food Bank
• Homeless Prevention
• Life Skills - Educational Scholarships for CNA/Med Aide, CDL, Welding
• Reach Your Destination Easily (RYDE) Transit
• Weatherization
• Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Community Action Success Story: *“Kim” came into our Community Action office still in shock that her husband walked out on her.  He left her the truck that needed many repairs and all of the bills.  Kim had not worked for several years and had no idea where to start.  Fortunately, Kim qualified for the Nebraska Homeless Assistance Program and that assistance helped take care of some rent and utilities.    For employment she was referred to Vocational Rehabilitation because she also qualified to work with them.  Our Policy Advisory Council assisted with needed truck repairs, gas assistance to get to appointments, and she also received a much needed food pantry.  Kim has had one short temp job but is continuing to work with Vocational Rehab and is hopeful that she will soon have full time employment.  Community Action continues to help people and change lives.
