Community Alliance Against Family Abuse

CAAFA helps women like Kayla. Kayla’s boyfriend was verbally abusing her, and was becoming increasingly jealous and controlling. When she was pregnant with her fifth child the abuse became physical and Kayla decided that she needed to leave—she told her boyfriend she was going to wash clothes and she and her children got on a Greyhound bus and came to Arizona for safety.  Kayla and her children came to CAAFA’s Safe Home and over four months rebuilt their lives. Now, Kayla and her children are living in their own apartment and Kayla is completing her GED and job training. Kayla shared with CAAFA that, “I never really wanted much out of life until I came to CAAFA. The staff let me know that I had the power to take back my life and I could do it.” We need your support to continue to provide these vital services to our community.
