Dear Friends,

There are feelings and
activities that we associate with each season.

Winter is a time for hunkering
down with family and friends while celebrating the holidays.

Spring is when we emerge into
the sunlight, celebrating the warmth of the sun and the renewal that comes with
it.

Summer goes by in a flash of sun
and backyard barbecues as we try to soak up the sun and enjoy the all-too-brief
season.

Fall in New England is, of
course, stunningly beautiful; a time for flannel shirts, bonfires and apple
picking.
We acknowledge strangers on the street, saying things like “It’s
getting cold out there!” or “It’s going to snow soon, I can feel it”.

These simple acts of community -
whether they be in your town, congregation, neighborhood, or family and friends
– connect us and make us feel like we are part of the bigger picture. The
quick smiles to strangers in the grocery store, seeing children sledding down a
neighborhood hill, the community events that draw in hundreds of people – these
are the things we often take for granted.

What if you didn’t see those
things?  What if those things were nothing more than the fleeting smell of
hot dogs roasting or the distant giggles of children? What if you were
homebound and could listen to the world and the beautiful changing of the
seasons but couldn’t participate in things as small as that banter about the
weather?

CCGD provides more than just bodies
to sit with someone and more than a rollator walker for them to use at
home. We provide a sense of community and a reminder that, even if you
aren’t physically capable of joining us, that you are not forgotten.

You are
valuable. You matter.

We often hear from our clients, Loaner’s Closet patrons and their families how grateful they are for our services and
how surprised they are that there is no cost.

When we
provide help with things such as equipment, grocery shopping or light chores,
we are also giving our client/visitor a sense of belonging and the knowledge
that there are people who care about them.

While there is no
charge, the benefits are incalculable.

It is with that thought in mind
that I ask you to consider donating to CCGD for NH Gives.

I ask you to consider giving
what you can so that we can continue to offer our vital services to the
community.

Remember the people you don’t see.
The invisible neighbors and community members who are homebound and rely wholly
on community programs such as ours to get them to doctor’s appointments, and
bring them groceries, and supply expensive incontinence products each
month.  Remember that you are part of the solution.  Your
donation, no matter the size, makes a very real difference.

PS: There is a ripple effect of
small donations that extend beyond the money itself.  By donating you are
inspiring a culture of generosity and, if you share this simple act on your
social media, that ripple effect is amplified.
