The vision statement of Community Counts is to “increase community through collaboration”
and serves as an umbrella organization that establishes and manages community programs
serving youth, individuals, and families.

Some of the projects Community Counts manages are:

The Yavapai County AmeriCorps Project (YCAP) has Sixteen AmeriCorps members who are working on projects across the county and have engaged thousands of volunteers in activities that support our communities. These members assisted various agencies to expand programming and increase services.

Parenting education is provided through a grant from First Things First. Partnering with various schools and community organizations we provide FREE parenting education classes throughout Yavapai County.

Yavapai SERVE, a volunteer service center for the County, was developed by Community Counts and the Yavapai County AmeriCorps Project in partnership with the Yavapai County VISTA Project and Prescott College. Yavapai Serve hosts multiple “Days of Service” events in the County, including Martin Luther King Day and Caesar Chavez Day.

Our Prescott Valley Community Gardens is a project of Community Counts . The garden is a community project that provides food to multiple food banks in Yavapai County.

The Yavapai Reentry Project was established under Community Counts. The project provides support services to former inmates being released from the Department of Corrections and returning home to Yavapai County. YRP is a regional support system which promotes successful reintegration of former inmates to improve community safety by reducing criminal behavior.
