The Community for Positive Aging (CfPA) – Hollywood Senior Center was established in 1973 to promote the health, independence, and well-being of adults 55 and older. We support older adults throughout the Portland metro area with case management, information and assistance, health and wellness activities, food and social services—and, above all, a sense of belonging and community.

As the next chapter of the Hollywood Senior Center, CfPA has expanded both our geography and our services, broadening opportunities for all adults in our community to age well. Our Center is vibrant and resilient, providing meaningful ways for community members to connect in person and virtually. Our ability to meet community needs continues to rely on the generosity and involvement of our community partners and supporters.

CfPA is a committed and connected organization that encourages intergenerational relationships, recognizes the wisdom and experience of older adults, and demonstrates deep respect for the aging process. We value, appreciate, and encourage the important contributions of older adults and empower people of all ages to pursue happy, healthy aging.

Supporting older adults, people with disabilities, and adults at risk of homelessness or economic insecurity remains at the heart of our mission. Community members continue to face displacement from rising housing costs, limited access to affordable and reliable transportation, and barriers to quality health care and nutritious food. Older adults from communities of color are disproportionately affected by these inequities and often face additional barriers to accessing culturally responsive services and resources.

CfPA is continually adapting to meet these evolving needs. We are expanding our wraparound supports through case management, technology access, and community engagement initiatives. Our Asian Food Pantry, launched in recent years, provides culturally specific, healthy groceries to help Asian seniors thrive. We continue to play a vital role in connecting community members to critical resources—including health care, housing, technology support, and transportation—and in addressing issues such as social isolation, behavioral health needs, and food insecurity.

More than anything, we provide a sense of community for people as they work to connect with services, resource, and other people! At CfPA, we remain steadfast in our mission: helping older adults connect, thrive, and age well—together.

Your tax-deductible contribution helps us meet increasing demand for services and enables us to expand essential services to those most in need.

Gifts at every level are greatly appreciated - and they make a difference.
