Community Law in Action Inc

In Baltimore City, where many youth struggle with poverty and its consequences, including high crime, substance abuse, and lack of educational and economic opportunities, they are often dismissed as part of the problem and rarely valued as part of the solution.  CLIA believes that young people have tremendous potential when provided with the right opportunities.  Through the Law & Leadership Academies and advocacy work through the Just Kids Partnership, CLIA works to: 

• Create community leaders through professionalism training and preparation for college and the workplace.  #futureleaders

• Equip youth with mediation and problem-solving skills that reduce conflict in their schools and communities.  #problem-solvers

• Provide youth with the tools to advocate for change in their communities. #advocates

• Connect youth with mentoring opportunities in local businesses and advocacy organizations. #mentoring

Each month you will learn about one of these four facets of CLIA’s work and how your contribution will equip young people to create and lead change in their communities. 

Throughout the year, you’ll see how your donation will support CLIA youth by connecting them with opportunities to travel to Annapolis, Baltimore City Hall and other places throughout Baltimore and the state of Maryland as they advocate for our communities' most vulnerable populations.
