Every day Community Ministry of Prince George's County (CMGPC), an interfaith 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization and community health resource, seeks to help Prince George's residents meet their human service needs and help targeted communities improve their health outcomes and quality of life.

To help homeless, near homeless, and low wageworkers continue to receive food assistance during COVID-19 restrictions, we transitioned our Community Place Café (CPC) free lunch program to the new CPC Angel Tree Food Assistance Program. Through the Angel Tree program, CPC’s 25 partners, including 21 churches, provide food assistance directly to registered CPC guests' residence or location without requesting anyone leave their residence. Sixteen (16) partners joined the Angel Tree program and more are joining daily. Angel Tree partners agree to send food assistance (e.g., food gift cards, food) directly to their assigned CPC guests until authorities lift the restrictions.

CMPGC continues to collaborate with University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University in implementing cancer education and other health education and research projects in Prince George’s County and Baltimore.

Via social media, we help The Maryland Center at Bowie State University provide awareness information to encourage youth and others to avoid vaping or using tobacco. We also encourage youth to avoid violence.

Our strategy is to leverage hundreds of volunteers including members of the Faith Community from across Prince George's County and the region to deliver relevant services in a cost effective and timely manner. This allows us to deliver services to thousands of needy and underserved persons in an efficient manner.

We are experiencing growing requests for basic food, shelter, and health needs as the economy continues to struggle. Your gifts and donations enable our small staff supported by hundreds of volunteers’ help thousands of needy and individuals and families meet their basic needs and help improve health outcomes among populations in underserved communities.
