Community Outreach Medical Center

Walk n' Roll for HIV/AIDS involves five agencies that provide a diverse mix of programs focused on preventing HIV infections and providing services for individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS as well as the general public.  These agencies are: Sin Sity Sisters, Community Outreach Medical Center (COMC), Public Pedals Bicycle Collective (Fremont Bicycle Clinic), The Gay & Lesbian Center and ActionRED.

• The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada (the “Center”).  The Center offers an array of programs including an HIV prevention project aimed towards 18-29 year old Gay/Bi/Trans males.  By the end of 2012, The Center will be moving into their new location on Maryland Parkway, just north of Charleston establishing an LGBT presence on the eastside of Downtown.
• The Sin Sity Sisters (the “Sisters”).  The Sisters provide outreach programs in local bars and clubs in the Las Vegas area.  The Sisters AIDS Drug Program (SADAP) provides HIV+ individuals with life saving medication.  They are no strangers to the Downtown area. Their annual RED Dress Event took place at the Downtown Cocktail Room and was so successful, that they moved it to the World Market Center so they could accommodate all of their supporters.
• Community Outreach Medical Center (“COMC”). COMC serves the Las Vegas community, with an emphasis on the local Latino population, and its services includes an HIV/AIDS component, providing medical care, case management and prevention services.
• Fremont Bicycle Clinic. Fremont Bicycle Clinic has created a program called the “RED Bicycle”. The RED Bicycle program will supply HIV+ individuals living in the Las Vegas area with a bicycle to assist with transportation needs.
• ActionRED. ActionRED housed in the Emergency Arts is a local HIV+ peer advocate body of volunteers that advocate for rights of individuals living with HIV / AIDS.  ActionRED educates through Art created by HIV + artists and are exhibited in the +Art|Collective as well as SPEAKOut, a story sharing HIV/AIDS education program.
