Our Mission: To provide individuals and families with advocacy and services to meet their basic needs so they may live in dignity.

Community Advocates was founded by Ramon Wagner in September 1976 as a small agency on Milwaukee's northwest side. His goal was to provide basic life-sustaining services for Milwaukee's neediest individuals and families until they were able to move forward on their own. His vision remains our core value as the agency evolves to meet the complex needs of our community.

Our focus areas include client-centered programs and services which address housing needs and homelessness, mental health, disabilities, case management, utility assistance, life-saving emergency shelter, a Public Policy Institute, and support for victims of domestic violence as well as batterer's prevention provided by the Milwaukee Women's Center, a division of Community Advocates.

When clients walk through our doors they are not numbers, they are real people with real problems who are treated with respect and dignity by our caring staff.  Collectively, our programs and services touch the lives of thousands of men, women, and children in the Milwaukee area each year.  Our goal is simple.  We are here to help people with their most pressing needs in the short-term and we are here to help them build the foundation for long-term success, independence and wellness.
