At a time when people are having difficulty making ends meet and businesses are struggling, Compass-Kentucky seeks to fight poverty and bring hope to Appalachia by sharing God’s financial principles with those that continue to face mounting economic challenges.

Compass-Kentucky’s Appalachian Initiative will equip people to faithfully apply God’s financial principles so that they may know Christ more intimately, be free to serve Him and help fund the Great Commission. Through very effective Small Group Studies, such as Navigating Your Finances God’s Way, Money and Marriage God’s Way, and Business God’s Way, small group study participants have found that they reduce debt, increase savings, and become more generous, all while drawing into a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Bible is a compass that gives us God’s direction for handling money. Although the Bible contains around 500 verses each on faith and prayer, it contains more than 2,350 verses on money and possessions. Clearly, God’s Word says so much about it because it is important for each of us to know. The Lord wants us to handle money in the smartest way possible, but also in a manner that honors Him. To the Lord, money is not just a financial issue; it is a spiritual and discipleship issue.
