What happens when a patient needs a medical procedure or a specialist appointment and doesn’t qualify for health insurance? This is where Comunidad de Apoyo San Diego (CASD) comes in. At CASD, we believe that all people regardless of insurance or immigration status deserve quality health care. Through the power of community organizing and fundraising, we have been able to fund surgical procedures for uninsured patients. 

San Diego Gives will be matching donations on September 7th, the Day of Giving, from 11-12pm PST and 4-5pm PST. This means your donation will have double the impact! We appreciate your support which will provide uninsured patients with life-changing surgeries that improve their quality of life. 

Our Mission

To improve healthcare access for uninsured community members in San Diego by providing financial support and accompaniment for patients, as well as education for providers to improve the health of our community.

Our Story

All donations DIRECTLY fund health care for uninsured immigrant patients (i.e. lab tests, surgeries, cancer screenings, etc.). Your donation is truly a life-changing gift of health and wellness:

• $25 covers the cost of lab tests
• $100 covers the cost of imaging
• $500 covers the cost of an appointment with a specialist
• $1000 covers the cost of Anesthesia for a medical procedure
• $1500 covers the cost of a Colonoscopy
• $2000 covers the cost of a Hysterectomy or Gynecological surgery
