Concrete Safaris Inc

Concrete Safaris prepares youth in East Harlem and beyond to be healthy leaders and shape their environment through outdoor education, play, exploration, and community engagement. Children (ages 7-12) participate in a free, 5-day/week, outdoorsy after school at PS 57 (115th Street between Third and Lex). Youth (ages 14-24) are paid to lead outdoor play, gardening, and health promotion activities in year-round, 6-24-week internships through Outdoor Leadership Academy. Residents and school groups are invited to garden with youth interns at Jefferson Gardens (114th Street and Second Ave) and Mad Fun Farm (98th Street and Third Ave). The entire community is invited to play and learn on major streets in East Harlem's commercial corridors on multiple dates each summer and fall with activities led by youth interns.
