Founded in 1987 and operating from the Atlas Performing Arts Center, Congressional Chorus fosters and communicates the spirit, diversity, and transformative power of music while advancing choral excellence, community outreach, and affordable music education for all ages in the nation’s capital.  Our family of five choirs has performed at many memorable venues throughout the Washington metropolitan area such as the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Library of Congress, the Department of State, and many more!

However, ticket sales do not cover the costs of presenting multi-sensory concerts.  To ensure that no family is ever turned away due to financial difficulty, be sure to give generously on December 1 for Giving Tuesday!

Your donation can help to provide sheet music and membership or tuition for our flagship choir and the American Youth Chorus!  The lives of many adults and children have been touched by working with our choirs, and also seeing their performances.  Last year alone, our community engagements and performances throughout Washington reached about 40,000 people!  According to one CC chorister, “Being a part of Congressional Chorus has been a great experience.  Performing once again has given me happiness, joy and a sense of purpose.”  Also, according to a parent of two AYC Junior Division parent, “My two daughters have participated in the AYC for several years.  The change in their self-confidence has been astounding.”

Last year, 36 children were able to participate with the American Youth Chorus due to generous donations to the Scott Upbright Memorial Fund, and ten new singers were able to join the ranks of Congressional Chorus thanks to the Peter McGee Scholarship Fund.  Our family of choirs has grown from 8 singers in one group in 1987 to over 160 across 5 different choral groups today! To continue growing and to make sure that no singer is turned away due to finances, we need YOUR SUPPORT:
