Founded in 2011, Co-op Cincy nurtures an interconnected network of worker-owned businesses in Greater Cincinnati. Our goal: an economy that works for all.

Through our programs, we provide business ownership opportunities to individuals from historically marginalized groups, support family-sustaining jobs, and create a more resilient and equitable local economy.

Our work is inspired by Mondragon, the largest and most successful network of worker-owned businesses in the world. Since being established in the Spanish Basque country in 1956, Mondragon has grown to include 80 cooperatives employing 70,000 people. In bringing Mondragon’s economic model to Greater Cincinnati, we are developing a network of worker-owned businesses that build long-term community wealth.

Since our founding, our network has grown to include 15 worker-owned businesses employing more than 100 people, of which 75% are BIPOC and 66% are women. Through our partnerships, we’ve helped these businesses access more than $6.4 million in capital, removing barriers to growth and continued success.
