CoPilot Animal Rescue is a small rescue and sanctuary for dogs and livestock animals in North Texas. We provide support for around 60 animals a month including: dogs, chickens, horses, mules, donkeys, pigs, sheep, and goats.

Most of our livestock animals are “defective” in some regards they do not make them good candidates for adoption. For example, a donkey with severe knuckling of their feet requiring intense lifelong care and maintenance, an elderly cutting horse losing the ability to keep weight on, potbelly pigs too large for the house, or retired sheep too old for breeding.

We also care for up to 20 dogs at a time in our 1500 sq foot indoor, air conditioned kennel. We have three dog yards that our kennel assistants rotate dogs into for exercise. Many of our dogs are flown up from South Texas in order to be rehabbed here in Denton county. We also offer services for other rescues who need a checkpoint to medically and behaviorally evaluate dogs before heading to out of state adoptions.
