Correct Health in Haiti Inc

Founded in 2002, CORRECT (Comité pour le Relèvement de la REgion de Chateau dans sa Totalité) Health in Haiti, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to providing guidance and support to the rural community of Chateau, Haiti. Chateau is home to approximately 12,000 people and is located 20 miles from the southern port city of Les Cayes.

The Mission of CORRECT Health in Haiti, Inc. is to mobilize financial and human resources for the Clinic of Chateau

The Vision is to ensure that the clinic becomes a model of a community health center, with an emphasis on infectious diseases

The Goal is to provide healthcare and education services to Chateau and surrounding communities by:

•  Providing pre-natal care and encouraging safe motherhood practices in order to attract and mobilize pregnant women to use the clinic’s services
  
• Immunizing infants and juveniles (0 to 5yrs) against polio, diphtheria, tetanus, TB and measles -- the main killer diseases of this age group in Haiti
  
• Organizing health education classes focusing on hygiene in local schools; and organizing regular health fairs in nearby localities, focusing on preventing diarrhea and other water-borne diseases
  
• Initiating a community-based HIV/AIDS prevention program
• Establishing an essential drug program, with sales going towards financing the basic maintenance costs of the
  clinic
• Establishing an irrigation system that will bring potable water to the community in order to prevent water-
  borne disease
