Cortney's Place, a family-founded non-profit, provides an inclusive, stimulating, and meaningful community-based day program for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
The goal of Cortney's Place is to encourage, support and engage individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Our focus is providing our participants with experiences that ensure a meaningful day through specialized, interactive programming. We meet all of our participants at their ability level to create an environment of inclusion, support, and community. We aim to provide this environment not only for the adults in our program, but their families as well.
"As a parent and a guardian of a special needs young adult, you are constantly worried about your child's safety, health, and happiness. These concerns rarely leave your thoughts.
Even with the help of family and friends, caring for a loved one, including providing them with community experiences outside the home, can be a challenge. Cortney's Place does this and more.
For a long time, I looked for a program that would meet all of my daughter's needs, and then I found Cortney's Place. It is a safe, healthy, and happy place with a dedicated leadership team and loving and engaged caregivers.
One of the things I like most about Cortney's Place is that it was established for the very purposes I concluded my daughter needed, AND MORE—engaging activities, healthy eating, and trips that provide meaningful experiences for members.
Cortney's Place and the people who make it work answered my family's prayers for our daughter and the life she can lead outside our home." - Tom Kauffman and Family, Scottsdale Parent
"Cortney's Place has been our saving grace. Cortney's Place is more than a day program; they have been an extension of our family. It is a place where our daughter continues to learn, grow, build relationships, and thrive all while giving her the dignity she deserves. You can feel the love and joy as soon as you walk in." - Carolyn Netzel, Scottsdale Parent
"The sad fact is that many, if not most Adult Day Programs for individuals with I/DD are so underfunded they become nothing more than warehoused babysitting during the work week. Not so at Cortney's Place.
Here, the participants are treated with respect and dignity. They are valued as individuals and the staff works hard to get to know each person, noting their particular likes and dislikes and providing fun, educational activities both onsite and out in the community. It's all about Human Connection - which is needed now more than ever. We support Cortney's Place and are so grateful we found them!" -Mary O'Neal, Phoenix Parent
"It has almost been a year since we became Cortney's Place and it has been a positive and wonderful experience for both our members and staff. Cortney's Place has truly become a place filled with love, care, and a professional staff you can count on for your loved ones. Thank you for making us a part of this incredible program." -Tute Mbam, Phoenix Staff
