Cradles to Crayons Inc

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 18, living in homeless or low-income situations with the essentials items, free of charge, they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play: clothing, coats, shoes, socks, underwear, pajamas, diapers, wipes, hygiene items, and school supplies.

The goal for this year is to serve 15,000 children from families living in poverty in Delaware County.

Of the 10 reasons that children don't attend school, three are related to clothing, supplies, & the confidence to fit it. When a child receives items from Cradles to Crayons, it assists them in overcoming the stigma and outward appearance of poverty; equips them with the tools they need to learn and succeed in school; and improves their self-esteem.

Cradles to Crayons programs include:

• 💜Everyday Essentials – A package containing a week’s worth of items including seasonal appropriate clothing.
• 💜Ready for Learning – Educational Materials including a backpack with new school supplies and activity kits to prepare children for academic success.
• 💜Gear Up for Winter – Warm clothing, coats, accessories, and boots.
• 💜Gear Up for Baby – Clothing, diapers, hygiene items, and accessories.

Cradles to Crayons distributes these essential items year-round without interruption and it will continue to do so until childhood poverty is a thing of the past.

Mission

Our Mission: To provide, free of charge, low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. We also set a foundation for lasting change through the meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities we provide to thousands of youth and adults each year.

Programs

Our Model: We're the glue between communities that have and communities that need. We make it simple for children, families, corporations to give their time, treasures and talent to benefit other children in their community. By partnering with social service agencies for distribution, we have a direct channel to serve tens of thousands of children in need each year.
