With the 2020 year Craven Arts Council is seeking to expand our programming beyond the reach of our primary facility of Bank of the Arts in downtown New Bern to more diverse and underserved portions of our community. This includes a revamped and community based public art program for the Greater Five Points area, development of outreach programming, and more. To cultivate this progress during these times CAC&G needs your help, support, and input.
CAC&G has moved through the first round of USA Today's "A Community Thrives" program. In order to qualify for the full $100,000 grant, we need your help to fund raise $3000 on the Mighty Cause platform before October 16th. Please donate to our "A Community Thrives" program on this page to help us raise the funds to create public art and outreach opportunities in our community.
The mission of the Craven Arts Council & Gallery is to create an environment where the arts thrive, bring joy, and enrich the cultural experience in our community. Founded in 1974 as a volunteer organization to promote countywide cultural initiatives, the Craven Community Arts Council merged in the 1980's with the New Bern Art Gallery to become the Craven Arts Council & Gallery. CAC&G is the Designated County Partner of the North Carolina Arts Council, and acts as administrator for specific NCAC grants in Craven County.
