Created believes in the value, dignity, and purpose of every women, we reach out to women who have been sexually exploited, and invite them into community where they can experience healing and restoration. Created is located in Ybor City, and was founded in 2007. Sex trafficking and the sexual exploitation of women are very real problems in the Tampa Bay area, as Tampa, Florida has the most strip clubs per capita than any other city in the United States. Today, there are more women currently employed by the sex industry than in any other time in history. Facts like these propelled the team who founded Created into action, when they launched their first street outreach team. After doing outreach for abut a year, meeting women where they are at and offering hope and relationship, that team began to see that these women needed a safe please where they could go rest and be at home. In 2009 Created opened the Sanctuary, a place of refuge for women where they can come and find hope, while working through the year long program to gain recovery and healing. In that first year we offered over 10 women to come through the doors of the Sanctuary, and since that time approximately 15-20 women a year find a home in that program.  Today, we continue to offer outreach services and provide care to our women through the Sanctuary and other programs. 

Created’s vision is summed up in our Core Principles, which include: Outreach, Education, Community and Holistic Care. Through outreach we will pray, seek, and befriend women who are in the sex industry. The goal is to invite the women into a community where they will find sisterhood, be discipled through our mentoring programs and, if eligible, be provided housing in our residences. Once the women are able to enter into our community space, we will offer them holistic care which addresses every mental, physical, and spiritual need while aiding their recovery and healing journeys. In the end, the vision of our organization is that the women will feel empowered. We will provide education and job training, life skills, and offer employment into our micro-businesses.
