Crest School

You've heard of other purple dinosaurs but none as special as me.  My name is Andy, I'm a guardian Angel, and I live on a playground.  My job here, ever since my arrival in 1994 is to watch over the children that play here at Crest and boy, does that require a lot.  There are little tiny toddler humans that love to ride in a wagon, medium size humans that like to run really fast, all the way to full grown human students that enjoy playing with me way past the typical age limit for playing  with purple dinosaurs.  I don't mind, it's kinda awesome. The opportunity to touch the often too brief lives of these incredible individuals is truly a worthy cause for such a regular dinosaur like me.  You see, the kids that go to school here are all so special, they require lots of loving hands daily as well as countless unseen guardian angels.  These special kids struggle everyday with physical disabilities, mental disabilities, and emotional disabilities.  Although the students here at CREST are all so different and have very specific needs, they all share one common thing; they love to play!  They love to play just like any other kid in the world.  Why, they don't even realize how they benefit from playing here on the playground.  

A good playground encourages physical movement, social interaction, as is essential to proper cognitive development.  I bet you didn't expect a purple dinosaur to be so smart!  I take my job here on the playground very seriously.  I'm so serious that I'm trying to help build a bigger and better playground that allows all of the kids to interact and well......play!  I need your help though, since I'm a purple dinosaur and I can't leave my post here on the playground.
