The mission of Chicago Rowing Union is to promote the sport of rowing to the LGBTQ community and its allies. Our rowers look to CRU for fitness, personal growth, and camaraderie in the occasionally intimidating atmosphere of competitive sporting.

We make the sport of rowing accessible to a wider audience by creating a welcoming culture and by keeping dues low with additional assistance available with no-questions-asked. Generous CRU alumni, family and friends like yourselves make our mission of promoting the sport of rowing to the LGBTQ community and its allies possible.

Your donation will be used to allow us to provide Rower Assistance to any member in need, maintain our equipment, and keep our team running. Our equipment is modest and our board is made up entirely of unpaid volunteers. Your contribution makes all the difference and will be put to good use! We commit to sharing 10% of the net proceeds raised with our charity partner. After the event, we will donate to Project Fierce Chicago, another amazing local organization so your generosity will be paid forward into the community as well!
