Culinary Academy of Las Vegas

The Culinary Academy of Las Vegas (CALV) is the country’s leading nonprofit hospitality training institute offering 15 different programs in hospitality work, digital and employability skills training, and language instruction. Our mission is to train people for successful, family-sustaining careers in the Las Vegas hospitality industry. We work to reduce poverty and eliminate unemployment by providing vocational and job-readiness training to youth, adults, and displaced workers.

Since our beginnings in 1993, we have trained more than 55,000 students for quality, family-sustaining careers in Southern Nevada. We provide a pathway out of poverty for community members who are unemployed or underemployed. All vocational training programs are licensed by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education and a certificate of completion equates to one-year of work experience with our employer partners on the Las Vegas Strip.

This #GivingTuesday, we’re asking for your support towards our mission. We will use donations towards our hospitality training programs and resources for job-readiness that all go back to workforce development in our community. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, every dollar we get goes back to the people who need it most!
