Our Mission
Our non-profit was created to organize special events throughout the Culpeper Minute Men Region that celebrate our unique history, culture, ancestry, traditions and patriotic volunteers. We have partnered with historical and heritage societies, museums, parishes, schools, preservation foundations, polo and hunt clubs, international, national, state and local agencies and a huge amount of talented history loving volunteers. History of the Culpeper Battalion 1775
In August of 1775 the House of Burgess met for its 3rd Virginia Convention to create 16 military districts and to appointed Patrick Henry as Commander of the 1st Regiment. The Culpeper District was created from Orange (Greene and Madison), Culpeper (Rappahannock) and Fauquier. Of the 16 military districts - Culpeper Battalion was the ONLY one to show up in Williamsburg with a full cadre of men, trained and on time. While just 350 men marched - HUNDREDS prepared them for that journey and the their victories at Hampton and Great Bridge. Wives, Mothers, Daughters, Old, Young, Rich, Poor Slaves and Freeman - Get to Know them and Share their Stories!
