Culpeper YoungLives

YoungLives is a unique non-profit designed to EMPOWER and EQUIP teen mothers through mentorship, community and a life with Christ.   A program that teams up with Christian women to provide young mothers in crisis with timely encouragement, guidance and ongoing support.  YoungLives is a safe place for pregnant and parenting teens to be KNOWN and LOVED.  Weekly club offers time of fellowship, fun and laughs to relieve stress, lessons on life skills such as parenting/cooking/budgeting, goal setting and intimate meetings with beneficial community resources.  Our monthly Cooking Club, which teaches basic cooking, nutrition and holistic health has become everyone's favorite club of the month and we hope to resume this Fall.  Summer camp gives teens and their babies a complete YL camp experience where they will make memories together to last a lifetime!  This summer we are planning to take 6 moms and their babies to camp!

*Our mentors meet and accept teen moms right where they are in life
*Build personal relationships with them to establish trust and friendship
*Provide experiences that are fun, adventurous, thought provoking and life changing
*Weekly club meetings include a team of volunteers who provide family style dinners and care for babies in the nursery while moms are participating
*Yearly trips to YoungLife camp exclusively for teen moms and their babies.
*Mentors share their lives and the Good News of Jesus Christ with teen mothers and love them regardless of their response
*Nurture bonds formed with teen moms so they might grow in their love for Christ and the knowledge of God's Word to become people who can share their faith with others.
*Help teen moms develop the life and parenting skills, assets, and attitudes to reach their goals and become contributing members of society
