Receiving a quality education is one of the most important goals any person can achieve. Providing access to quality education can serve to reduce impoverishment and increase literacy, which is linked with healthier lives and active participation in social policy discussions and decisions. Cultural connections: Transnational Research and Education Laboratory (CCTREL) is a non-profit established by educators in the U. S. Midwest and West Africa. One of the primary activities of CCTREL is providing  scholarships to children in West Africa allowing them to continue in primary and secondary schools, and University. Since 2013, we have provided scholarships to 20 students in Senegal who are exploring public policies in their home country. Please help us provide funding to more students. 

In addition to providing educational scholarships, CCTREL activities include:

Engaging in research and curriculum development about public policies in education, health, child welfare, language, migration, ecology, urbanism, food sovereignty, and human rights

Teaching about field research methods

Administering a research and policy analysis center focused on the consequences of globalization on public policies in the US Midwest and West Africa. This center documents and archives works by scholars excluded from official curricula

Organizing educational trips to West Africa
