Mission

DNDA's mission is to integrate Art, Nature and Neighborhood to build and sustain a dynamic Delridge. We rely on donor support to help fund the programs that embody our vision of a vibrant and thriving Delridge community. Thank you for your support!

Description

For over 23 years DNDA has been dedicated to preserving and increasing affordable housing for a range of incomes, enhancing the natural environment, and providing such vital resources as arts and cultural opportunities, education, youth mentorship for our neighbors. We are devoted to social, racial and environmental justice through dynamic community-based programming in art, nature and neighborhood.

ART
At the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, DNDA provides affordable artist housing and below market office space to other nonprofits (Arts Corps, The Service Board, Reel Grrls, Totem Star, 12th Night Productions, Interagency Academy, and the West Seattle Tool Library). Space at Youngstown is made available to the general public for workshops, classes, performances and celebrations, and Youngstown is a hub for creative programming in West Seattle. DNDA collaborates with local creatives and organizers to develop projects that engage various communities, while also supporting integrative art programming through our youth EcoArts Program and the annual Arts In Nature Festival.

NATURE
Since merging with Nature Consortium in 2016, DNDA's environmental stewardship programs now include our Urban Forest Restoration Program that engages volunteers at rotating natural sites in West Seattle as well as the Delridge Wetlands Park that conserves the wetland habitat and serves as an outdoor classroom for environmental science lessons at Louisa Boren STEM K-8 School. DNDA's other nature programs include our year-round EcoArts youth program that utilizes art as a vehicle to engage students in lessons of sustainability, conservation and earth science.

NEIGHBORHOOD
DNDA is a multi-service neighborhood organization providing low-income housing at seven properties, including three mixed use properties. All of our housing options are less expensive than for-profit buildings so that families with lower incomes can always live in Delridge. Other neighborhood programs include our new Restorative Justice program in partnership with Seattle Public Schools, our Summer Youth Program in partnership with Seattle Housing Authority and our annual OneLove Youth Soccer Tournament.
