Doniphan-Trumbull TeamMates Mentoring Program

To positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring.

The Doniphan-Trumbull TeamMates Mentoring Program has been active since 2007. Prior to that, the program was active under the Grand Island area TeamMates Program. Our chapter has grown to 55 matches. Making the time to spend one hour a week with a young person from our school district is a priceless gift. From a mentor: I had empty nest and was missing contact with the school and kids. I have thoroughly enjoyed my mentee and her enthusiasm of her activities. We have talked books, movies, problems she has with other students, tv shows and living in a small town. It's exciting to hear what she wants her future to be. Going to college is now in her future, so I keep my fingers crossed that this is the path. If you can have a conversation, but mainly listen, you can do this. I look forward to Wednesday afternoons!

From a mentee: You taught me how to count money, we painted fingernails with glitter polish and had it all over the table in the library and we have frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles. We usually had craft ideas that we could work on. Right now we are playing the game 5 seconds….and laughing. I have so much fun meeting with my mentor!
