Daniel Trush is the life force that drives Daniel's Music Foundation. His happiness and zest for life is incomparable and his dynamic, positive, and friendly personality is contagious.

When he was 12 years old, while playing basketball, a brain aneurysm burst in his head. He was trapped in a coma for 30 days, and spent the next 341 days hospitalized. The next 2 years he was in a wheelchair and today he walks on his own.

Daniel's recovery was so greatly enhanced by learning to play the keyboard that he and his family were compelled to found Daniel's Music Foundation.

Today Daniel's Music Foundation offers a variety of music classes including voice, piano and band boosting confidence, acceptance and overall well-being in the members.  They offer 35 On-Site classes and Off-Site classes to individuals who cannot travel as easily to hospitals, group homes, rehabilitation centers, schools and nursing homes. DMF also has an outreach program to spread the awareness of the musical talent within the members of the disabled community and have played at The Rusk Institute, Isabella Nursing Home and the New York Yankees (just to mention a few).  Lastly, Daniel's Music Foundation has also built a Member Leadership Program to encourage members to be positive role models within the organization.  Members are encouraged to volunteer, assist instructors and additionally several members are employed, enabling them to earn an income as well as skills and confidence.
