The David Fellers Healing Art foundation was inspired by David Fellers who was born with cerebral palsy and was deaf. His smile spread his enthusiasm for life everywhere he went. His laugh was contagious and inspired his 7 brothers and sisters as well as everyone who knew him to look on the bright side of life! When David died at the age of 30 in 2008, in honor of his example of making the most of what he had, a foundation was created to help disabled people living in poverty .We began fund-raising in 2009. Our first opportunity to help disabled people living in poverty begin in the coastal village of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua.  In Nicaragua we met many children, like our David, kids with amazing special abilities but who were completely isolated from society because they had no wheelchairs. We found people who had suffered strokes, other debilitating diseases or accidents that left them disabled. They were confined to home and lacking medication, mobility equipment, and even clean water and adequate food! We met many young men, and heard of many others, who had been lobster divers but were now paralyzed by diving too deep. They had no access to a decompression chambers and consequently suffered irreparable nerve damage.  Join us, improve the world one person at a time, provide special people with the means to participate in life and enrich their communities.
