Founded in 1982, Daystar Life Center is a community-supported non-profit organization that assists our neighbors in need with the necessities of life. We do this by providing services with compassion, dignity and respect and advocating for those who would otherwise go without. Often times this emergency intervention helps people to get back on their feet and regain stability in their lives. Other times, we simply provide an immediate response to a need that many of us take for granted every day.

As Americans, we expect to have enough food to eat, a safe place to live, and clothing to protect us from the elements. However, nearly 15% of our neighbors in Pinellas County struggle to keep these needs intact. They are the elderly, working poor, disabled, and mentally ill. Any unforeseen financial emergency puts them at-risk for going hungry or becoming homeless. About 30% of clients served by our organization already are homeless.

Daystar Life Center works to restore hope for individuals and families who are in despair by providing them with the basic necessities that help them to stay nourished, feel clean and safe, gain employment, and access or maintain housing. We impact the lives of more than 45,000 individuals each year and are well known in the community for our ongoing support to those in need. We are blessed with hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and their talents to run operations efficiently and effectively throughout the week. With less than 5% of every dollar donated going to administration and fundraising expenses, we are able to dedicate the majority of our contributions to assist those who frequent our doors for service so no one leaves empty handed.
