Deaf Inc

Founded in 1996, Deaf Inc, DBA Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, our organization is primarily a grassroots organization. Beginning with only interpreter referral services for a few Deaf, we have grown to filling 3,232 sign language interpreter requests annually. We also now offer American Sign Language classes for anyone who's interested; an equipment assistance, (such as hearing aids) program for low-income Kent County citizens who have hearing loss; a cultural awareness and sensitivity training program where we train businesses, government organizations, and other entities on how to work with their deaf and hard of hearing employees and consumers; and our KidSigns program for deaf and hard of hearing children aged 3 to 12. We provide these children with bimonthly activities and Deaf adult role models, in turn, improving their behavior, social and language skills.
