Defense Against Diabetes

The mission of Defense Against Diabetes is to raise awareness about preventative health measures. Advocating for healthier lifestyles throughout the community, we provide coaching, resources, and health education, helping individuals reach their goals.

Defense Against Diabetes was created in 2018, after the founder noticed there were not any diabetes prevention programs in mid-Missouri.  We are working to decrease the number of new type 2 diabetes diagnoses. We work with members of our community who have been diagnosed with prediabetes or who had gestational diabetes to help them understand their risk for type 2 diabetes. Through mindful eating and purposeful physical activity, we can reduce or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.  

We utilize the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's PreventT2 curriculum to guide. our efforts. Our founder, Sabrina Weaver, is a registered nurse and certified lifestyle coach for Prevent T2.
