When a person is going through a difficult time they are comforted by a friend or family member who "is there" for them.  Unfortunately, for victims of abuse, particularly sexual abuse, it is a friend or family member that committed the abuse.  In those cases, the staff of the Children's Advocacy Center "is there".

CAC Staff members listen to children as they give their statement of disclosure.  The Forensic Interviewer listened recently to an eleven year old who had been sexually abused by a school mate.  She and her whole family were shocked and traumatized by the even. 

CAC Staff members listen to children as they share the heartbreak, disappointment, fear, nightmares, and guilt.  One of our Therapists helped turn a teenager's bad dreams of the abuse into good dreams of a bright future filled with hope and confidence.
